Agricultural Emissions Accounting System for Supply Chains

Regrow and Soil Capital have established an operational framework to deliver verified Scope 3 agricultural emissions reduction programs across agricultural supply chains in Latin America. The technical architecture links biogeochemical modeling and field data collection with an established certification protocol to generate audit-ready emissions claims.

Supply Chain Accounting Challenges
Agribusinesses sourcing from Latin America face regulatory requirements to quantify, reduce, and report Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions. Calculating farm-level mitigation across extensive regional supply sheds typically requires integrating separate providers for measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV), local farmer onboarding, and carbon accounting standards. This multi-vendor approach often introduces disparate data formats, administrative overhead, and verification discrepancies that delay reporting cycles.

Technical Architecture and Operational Division
The joint deployment eliminates fragmented workflows by standardizing data flow from baseline assessment to final claim generation.

Regrow provides the computational infrastructure through its biogeochemical DNDC (DeNitrification-DeComposition) engine and regional data collection systems, operated via PUMA by Regrow. This component handles landscape-level supply shed analysis, farm-level primary data ingestion, and soil carbon stock and nitrous oxide flux quantification across crop rotations.

Soil Capital operates the downstream certification framework and agricultural engagement protocols. It coordinates farmer enrollment and aligns quantification with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Land Sector and Removals Guidance (GHG Protocol LSRS) and ISO 14064-2 standards.

Implementation and Field Validation
The joint model functions as a single technical workflow. Primary farm management data gathered through local interfaces feeds into the DNDC model to establish a verified baseline. As growers adopt regenerative field practices, modeled soil and operational adjustments are converted directly into compliance metrics without manual transfer across external registries.

This system was previously deployed across European programs, where the underlying architecture supported the verification of more than 1,160,000 tCO2e of climate mitigation and direct payments totaling 21.1 million euros.

In Latin America, the technical model was validated through the SAI Platform Argentina Peanuts Project, an insetting initiative that monitored 42 farms encompassing over 7,500 hectares of row crops. The operational setup confirmed that PUMA by Regrow data acquisition interfaces and Soil Capital compliance frameworks successfully generate audit-compliant Scope 3 emissions reductions under regional soil and climate conditions.

"The PUMA merger gave us on-the-ground presence and crop system expertise in Latin America. This partnership connects that infrastructure to Soil Capital's proven, Europe-tested certification and farmer engagement model," stated Anastasia Volkova, CEO and Co-Founder at Regrow.

"Delivering Scope 3 outcomes at scale requires two things that are rarely found together: the science to make the claim credible and the execution infrastructure to make it real for farmers and corporates," noted Chuck de Liedekerke, CEO and Co-Founder at Soil Capital.

The unified protocol is designed for regional agronomic deployments to maintain end-to-end data integrity across corporate supply chains.
