The updated XERION 12 integrates a new Autodroop mode within the CMATIC continuously variable transmission system. A key innovation is the introduction of a Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) developed with AgXeed, scheduled for deployment from the second half of 2026. The VCU enables driver-supervised autonomous execution of pre-defined work orders.

The system operates via ISOBUS and TIM protocols, integrating with the CLAAS connect and AgXeed’s TraXwise platform. Work orders including field boundaries, obstacle mapping, and application parameters can be transferred via cloud-to-cloud communication.

Once initiated, the tractor performs tasks such as automated steering, turning, obstacle avoidance, and site-specific input application. Operators remain in the cab for supervision and can intervene when necessary, ensuring compliance with operational safety and regulatory frameworks.

Post-operation, all performance and process data are automatically documented and synchronised back to CLAAS connect, supporting analysis, traceability, and farm management documentation.

Automated Guidance and Additional Functional Upgrades
The GPS PILOT CEMIS 1200 system introduces Auto RefLine, enabling automatic adjustment of reference lines during field operations. This reduces manual intervention when transitioning between field sections such as headlands or irregular zones.

Additional updates include improved lighting systems for road safety and expanded control integration via programmable function keys on the CMOTION drive lever, consolidating operator inputs.

Technical Relevance and Application

These updates position the XERION 12 within a broader shift toward semi-autonomous agricultural machinery and digitally integrated farming systems.
