Additional Transmission Option for 110–140 hp Tractors

The STEYR Expert series in the 110–140 hp (maximum) segment is now available with an alternative S-Control 8 double clutch transmission alongside the established S-Control CVT. Combined with newly structured equipment packages, the update enables closer configuration to farm, municipal, and forestry requirements.

S-Control 8 Double Clutch Transmission
In addition to the continuously variable S-Control CVT, Expert models can now be specified with the S-Control 8 transmission. This double clutch system features three ranges, each with eight powershift steps, providing a total of 24 forward ratios.

The stepped powershift layout supports precise speed control from low-speed applications, such as loader operations, through to field work and transport. Maximum road speed is 40 km/h. Gear overlap between steps enables smooth shifting under load, and automated shifting is available within each range.

Integrated functions include S-Tronic engine and transmission management, which optimizes operating efficiency by coordinating engine speed and gear selection to reduce fuel consumption. The S-Stop II brake-to-clutch function allows the operator to stop the tractor using the brake pedal without depressing the clutch, improving control during loader work and implement coupling.

A memory shuttle function matches forward and reverse speeds to ensure consistent shuttling performance, while an automatic clutch function eliminates the need for manual clutch operation when changing ranges.




Equipment Packages for Application-Specific Use
To simplify ordering and align tractors more closely with operational needs, STEYR introduces three equipment packages for S-Control 8 models.

The Element package targets farms conducting regular loader work and light field operations. It includes mechanical rear remote valves, up to two electrohydraulic mid-mount valves, and a basic loader joystick. Cab and front axle suspension are available as options.

The Evolution package is aimed at operators performing light tillage and transport tasks with higher-specification requirements. Cab and front axle suspension are included as standard. Precision farming readiness can be enhanced through optional advanced telematics and autoguidance systems up to RTK accuracy. The package also allows specification of up to three electronic remote valves with an advanced joystick interface.

For municipal and forestry applications, the Orange package includes a suspended front axle as standard, with optional cab suspension. Up to three electrohydraulic remote valves and an advanced joystick can be specified to support auxiliary equipment and front-mounted implements.

Configuration Flexibility in the Mid-Power Segment
By combining an alternative double clutch transmission with defined feature packages, the STEYR Expert range provides structured configuration options within the 110–140 hp class. The stepped S-Control 8 transmission offers a mechanical alternative to CVT operation, while integrated electronic management systems support fuel efficiency and operational control across agricultural, municipal, and forestry tasks.
